Winnie Chow-Horn joined the MSLSJ team in September 2019 as the Stakeholder Engagement and Knowledge Mobilization Coordinator. Her role is to facilitate on-going relationship building towards existing and new life skills initiatives with our community partners. Winnie is a first-generation Chinese-Canadian who draws on over two decades of experience as a researcher, community activist, trainer, evaluator, and educator. Her research and community work focuses on producing social and cultural shifts in understanding. Prior to joining the MSLSJ team, Winnie was the co-founder and Executive Director of two charitable organizations. Her leadership in both charities advanced the inclusion of Indigenous and immigrant children, youth, and families in the broader systems of health, education, and justice. Winnie’s leadership is rooted in participatory, community-led, and action-oriented methods and draws on intercultural and Indigenous theories and perspectives.
